2º ESO: Can you guess which music band does each one play?

Good morning guys!!! Here I have a couple of friends who play in several music bands. Can you guess which music band does each one play? By the way, you have to recognize the instrument that each one plays. You have the different types of music bands in the text below.

- Rock band. It is usually a group of four or five people, with one or two electric guitars, a bass guitar, a drumkit and a singer. It also could have a keyboard.
- Brass band. It is a group of about twenty to thirty musicians with brass instruments and drums.
- Concert band. It is a group of about twenty to sixty people with woodwind, brass, drums and percussion instruments.
- Marching band. It is a group similar to a concert band, but instead of sitting down to play, musicians from a marching band play while walking (usually at football matches or in military parades).

And now listen to the people, and write the instrument each one plays, and the music band in which he or she plays. You have to write the requested information in a post to this entry.

Regards, have a nice afternoon, and be good.

For sure that you all would like to try it and, who knows, maybe we will get a newborn musician among us.

2º ESO bilingüe: Task about a musical instrument

Hi everybody!! Here I will explain the task you have to do. Please follow these instructions.

  1. The first thing you have todos to choose one musical instrument, the one you like most, or the one whose sound you prefer.
  2. When you have chosen the instrument, you have to look for a photo or an image of it, and download to your computer.
  3. Look for some information in English about the instrument. It's up to you to select the information you consider important.
  4. Now you have to use either the web fotobabble (if you want to record your voice and add it to the image) or the web thinglink (if you want to create an interactive image by adding hot spots to it, with sounds, links and explanations). When you have the decision, go to the web page and create an account.
  5. Fotobabble: You have to upload the image, give a name to your "talking photo" and record the information you have found about your instrument. Of course, you have to record with your own voice, and of course you have to speak in English. When you have finished the task, send me the fotobabble to miscosasdemusica@gmail.com.
  6. Thinglink: You have to upload the image, give a name to your interactive photo and create some hot spots on it. You have to give some information you have found about your instrument in each spot, and you can use text, or another image, or a sound, or a link, or everything. Of course, you have to write the information in English. When you have finished the task, send me the thinglink to miscosasdemusica@gmail.com.

The deadline to do this task is Friday, April 12th. So, start working right now!!!!

Have a nice weekend, and be good.

Hi there, guys!!! I've found this video while I was surfing the web, and... it's wonderful!!!!

Well, maybe "wonderful" is not the most appropriate word to define the video, but at least I think it's very fun and entertaining. So, YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT, GUYS!!!!

I hope you have enjoyed the video. And now, please, answer these two questions:

Guys. A group of people of either sex.
To surf the web. To search for something, or to watch some things, or simply to spend some time on the internet (the web).

Saludos, y sean buenos.

Paddle Pitch, juego musical estilo retro

Good morning, dear students!! How are you today? I hope you'll feel really fine. Here you have a simple musical game, very similar to a legendary and enjoying 80's game called "Arkanoid". What you have to do when playing the game is to hit the ball with the paddle, but in a somewhat strange way. You have to be very careful with the sound you hear, because it's going to indicate you where to put the paddle. The higher the level at which you are, the more notes (rectangles) you have to control.

To enter the game, click on the image below or click on this link.

That's all, folks, I hope you enjoy it a lot.

Glossary:
Simple musical game: Sencillo juego musical.
Legendary: Legendario.
Enjoying: Entretenido.
To hit: Golpear.
Paddle: Paleta.
A somewhat strange way: De una forma un tanto extraña.
To hear: Escuchar.
The higher the level..., the more notes...: Entre más elevado sea el nivel..., más notas...
Cheers, and be good!!

Hi guys!!!! Here I bring you the task related to music notation (do you remember the theory you learned last Friday during the Music class? Ok then, you'll have to write the names of the following musical figures in Spanish, British English and American English, in the same order they are shown (en el mismo orden en que aparecen). These are the figures:
You must write the answer through a comment to this post. You can do that by clicking on the bottom (en la parte de abajo) of the post, on "Publicar un comentario en la entrada". The deadline to send me this task is Friday 4th (el último día para enviarme esta tarea es el viernes 4), after this day I won't accept your answers.

Finally, you'll have to find out the name of this musical figure, both in British and American English (tendrán que averiguar el nombre de esta figura musical en inglés británico y en inglés americano). I'll give you a clue (les voy a dar una pista): in Spanish, its name is "fusa".
Don't forget the deadline, folks!!!! Cheers, and be good.

Do you want to play an exciting musical game?

Hi there!! I've just decided to share (compartir) with you all a game I found last year, while I was looking for resources (recursos) to teach music in my classes. It's a kind of (una especie de) enjoying game in which you'll have to put the letters in the correct order to identify a musical instrument. You should read the definition carefully, because it would have a clue (pista). Good luck and... ¡¡¡enjoy this exciting game!!!

Cheers, and don´t forget to be good.
